Well Baby Visit Feb. 10

Penelope had her 4 month exam today and is doing wonderfully. She weighs in at 16 lbs almost exactly putting her in the 93 %, she is 25 1/2 inches tall and in the 90th %, and her head is exactly average sized at 50 %. She has taken to her Non-Dairy diet beautifully and is no longer in gassy pain all the time. Life is good for PJ!

I have been taking Penelope's picture every week for a growth album. Her bunny friend in every photo is Jack Rabbit, a gift aunt Alicia made and brought to the hospital the day Penelope was born. Here is her growth so far! It's amazing!

Penelope is feeling better!

Well, it wasn't the easiest fix in the world but I think we finally made Penelope a healthier happier baby :)

PJ has never been easy, from the first few weeks on we could tell she liked to cry. A lot. And there was spit up. And frowning. And a lot of gas. It was hard on us all, but especially poor Penelope. She was obviously really uncomfortable.

Finally after a week of constant inconsolable screaming we got her into the doctor and he found nothing obvious in a physical exam but gave us a prescription antacid to give her and a list of things to try. On the list was swaddling, probiotic lactobacillus Reuteri and a dairy free diet. Well, she eats what I eat so... I gave up cheese :(

I gave up all dairy actually. And it's hard! There is dairy in everything from Ramen soup to white bread to breaded chicken to McDonalds french fries. No more pizza, taquitos, Starbucks Doubleshots, and all my beloved pastries....

I was kind of hoping it wouldn't work, selfishly. BUT it did! Which is a good thing because now PJ is sooo much happier. It makes it all worth it to see her smile and drift off to sleep and play with her toys and laugh at her sister.

So I can live without it :)
